About Me

My birth...
I was born with a god awful, old-fashioned name in Lexington, Kentucky.  That's all you need to know.

As a child...
I've been a reader all my life, ever since my mom forced a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on me when I was five.  I may not have been that kid that knew the librarian on a first name basis because I'd been caught in the library after hours so often, but I did appreciate books.  Even more so as I got older.

As a teenager...
I had always put together stories in my head.  Not complete ones, and not ones that were ever shared, but stories nevertheless.  They came from having a unique view of the world.  (For instance, I'd always thought the traffic lights were changed by minuscule people hiding behind the bulbs.)

When I was twelve, I was home-schooled and suddenly had way too much time on my hands while sitting at a computer.  My first "completed" novel was of a girl's drama through high school (because I'd just picked up Sarah Dessen books.)  My second was of a lost fairy princess (because I really liked the map in Eragon.)

I was forever flitting from story to story, compiling a storage box full of abandoned notes and print outs of partially completed stories.  As I got older, I spent more and more time on my stories, but still couldn't complete any of them.

Currently...
I'm a high school senior with six months left in purgatory (as of Jan. 2012).  My current story is of a boy named Eli.

"A Little Birdy Told Me"...
I started this blog because I have to write about writing somewhere.  I liked the name "A Little Birdy Told Me" because that's kind of what writing is.  These little things in your head whisper things to you and you just have to write them down, or die trying.
